The Dads Study

This study examines the link between physical activity and paternal mental health. Complete a short online survey with questions around your physical activity, sleep quality and mental health. You may also be invited to participate in a one-on-one interview.

Study Purpose/Description

This study aims to survey fathers in the postnatal period (i.e., within 12 months of their child’s birth) to examine the association between different domains of physical activity (i.e. leisure, transport, work) and depressive symptoms.

This research will be used to inform the feasibility and acceptability of future physical activity interventions targeting fathers in the postnatal period who are experiencing heightened depressive symptoms.

What’s Involved?

You will be asked to complete a short online survey (approximately 20-minutes) with questions around your physical activity, sitting time, sleep quality and mental health.

You may also be invited to participate in a one-on-one interview (via zoom or telephone) exploring what might prevent you from being more physically active and possible ways to increase your physical activity.

Complete the survey and go into the draw to win one of four $50 gift cards. Participate in an interview and receive a $20 gift card.
