Study Purpose/Description
This research aims to explore whether readiness to support women who have experienced intimate partner or domestic violence from a male partner, is related to psychological distress in the person providing support. We also aim to explore whether the level of perceived psychological burden in providing support moderates this relationship. Also being explored is whether there is a difference in the effect of these factors for people living in rural or urban areas.
We wish to acknowledge that there are other relationship dynamics in which domestic violence occurs including victim/survivors of all genders. These deserve their own focused research which is outside of our current scope.
What’s Involved?
If you’ve supported a woman experiencing domestic violence (currently or within the past 6 months) from a male partner, you’re eligible to participate.
You’ll be asked to complete a one-time online survey, which includes 8 demographic questions and 100 multiple-choice items. It will take about 10–20 minutes to complete.
Participation is voluntary and completing the survey will be taken as your implied consent to take part in the study.
