Improving mental health among Australian adults with diabetes: The MIND-MAP study

Living with diabetes can affect more than physical health. Share your experiences about diabetes and your emotional wellbeing by completing 4 short online surveys over three years and help improve mental health support for the diabetes community. Study Purpose/Description

As someone with lived experience, your voice is essential in shaping the future of diabetes care. The study aims to better understand the emotional and mental health experiences of adults living with diabetes over time, including challenges such as distress, anxiety, and low mood. By sharing your experiences in the MIND-MAP (Mental health IN Diabetes – Monitoring and Pathways) study you will help make emotional support easier to access and more suitable for people living with diabetes across Australia.

What’s Involved? 

  • Reflect on your diabetes journey and emotional well-being
  • Complete 4 short online surveys
    • one survey each year over three years
    • each survey takes around 20 minutes and can be done on your computer, tablet, or phone

Recruitment criteria

You may be eligible to participate in this study if:

  • Aged 18 years or older,
  • Live with diabetes (any type – T1D, T2D, MODY, LADA), OR
  • Care for someone with diabetes
