Love Your Brain – A digital health platform for preventing stroke

Love Your Brain is a free digital platform developed by Monash University, Stroke Foundation, and the Menzies Institute for Medical Research at the University of Tasmania to empower people to take action to prevent stroke. The platform is designed to increase awareness of stroke risk factors and encourage simple steps towards better health – using evidence-based content via emails, text messages or an online course.

Study Purpose/Description

One stroke occurs every 11 minutes in Australia.

The Love Your Brain trial has the potential to reduce the number of strokes in Australia by improving the recognition and management of risk factors.

Around the world, digital technology is becoming popular to deliver information and engage people in new learning. The information gathered during the trial will inform the Love Your Brain digital platform, which will become a valuable resource for stroke prevention for all Australians.

What’s involved?

  1. Watch a 10-minute StrokeSafe presentation online
  2. Complete two 20-minute surveys 12 weeks apart
  3. Learn more about stroke with the digital platform (emails or text messages or an online course) for 12-weeks. This is a randomised trial so you cannot choose which of these three options (emails or text messages or an online course) you will get.

It will take less than 30 minutes per week to do the learning activities by email, text messages or online course.

By participating, you consent to us disclosing your first name, mobile phone number to our third-party SMS service provider for the sole purpose of delivering the Love Your Brain digital platform.
