Study Purpose/Description
This study aims to document the accuracy of home blood pressure BP devices and a (provided) wearable device. You will be fitted with a 24-hour ambulatory monitor to record your blood pressure as you go about a normal day. The accuracy results of your home blood pressure device and the wearable device will be compared to ‘gold standard’ 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure measurement. Our results may help shape future guidelines for both home blood pressure monitoring and new wearable technologies.
What’s Involved?
This study involves:
- 2 visits to the research lab at the University of Sydney (Visit 1 will take up to 1.5 hours, visit 2 will take 15 minutes).
- Demographic, health and blood pressure-related questionnaires (approx. 30 minutes).
- Leaving your home blood pressure device with the research team for a few days for accuracy assessment (you receive a report about your device).
