Study Purpose/Description
Researchers at Macquarie University are developing an AI-powered health companion that can transform traditional medical letters and health records into interactive conversations. Just like having a knowledgeable friend explain your health information, this AI assistant can answer questions about your medical conditions, treatments, and care instructions in plain language.
This research aims to bridge the communication gap between doctors and patients, making healthcare information easier to understand and act upon. Your participation will help researchers design technology that could revolutionise how millions of people interact with their health information, potentially improving health outcomes through better understanding and engagement.
What’s Involved?
- Interact with an AI-powered clinical communication system using simulated patient clinical history (20 minutes)
- Complete a post-experiment questionnaire about your experience (10 minutes)
- Provide feedback on the system’s clinical communication capabilities
- You’ll receive a $30 gift voucher upon completion.
- Optional: Participate in a 30-minute follow-up interview (+$30 AUD)
