Carer’s Perception on Risks & Barriers to Care in Farmers with Dementia

This qualitative study will examine carers’ viewpoints on challenges and obstacles in providing care to dementia patients in agricultural communities.

Study Purpose/Description

This qualitative study will examine carers’ viewpoints on challenges and obstacles in providing care to dementia patients in agricultural communities. Using open questions, it will examine carer’s perceptions on how community, geography and other factors influence patient’s access to care.

What’s Involved? 

The Study is currently recruiting from the beginning of June to the 25th of July. Participants will answer a brief questionnaire determining if they are eligible to participate.

A brief 30-minute interview will be undertaken over the phone or using Microsoft Teams depending on participant preference. During this meeting the interviewer will ask the participant questions regarding what they perceive to be the major risks and barriers to care for dementia patients living rurally.

At the end of the meeting, participants will also be asked if they would like results disseminated to them at the conclusion of the study.

Recruitment criteria

You may be eligible to participate in this study if you:

  • Are over the age of 18 and living with/caring for/supporting dementia patients or cognitive impairment patients
