Study Purpose/Description
The two main aims of this research are:
- To understand what Australians in midlife know about Lifestyle Medicine.
- Examine attitudes towards using Lifestyle Medicine to improve health and wellbeing.
The choices people make throughout their lives have a profound impact on their health and wellbeing. As people enter midlife, they often juggle multiple responsibilities – work, family, and personal health – while facing an increased risk of weight gain and chronic diseases (i.e. diabetes, heart disease and some cancers).
This survey will gather insights into how individuals in midlife think about and engage with lifestyle changes. The results will help shape health promotion strategies designed specifically for this age group.
What’s involved?
The participant will be asked to complete an anonymous online survey. The online survey should take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete and is divided into three parts:
- Part 1: Share what you currently know about Lifestyle Medicine, your health, and your views on health information.
- Part 2: Watch a brief 5-minute video featuring a case study of someone discussing their chronic health issue and how Lifestyle Medicine helped.
- Part 3: Reflect on your future health, possible barriers to healthy activities, how you prefer to receive health information, and provide some basic demographic information.
